I chose the song Supernova for this poem assignment because this song has gotten me through so much. I relate to the emotional part of it. The song talks about being betrayed by someone you thought would be there for you. Sometimes when multiple traumatic events happen to the same person you start to become numb to emotions and feelings. You feel like you’re living outside yourself looking down. You look back at the memories and decisions that you wish you wouldn’t have made. You can feel so disconnected at times and this song really portrays the emotion. Supernova shows that people will betray you when they find something better. 
“Don't know what this craze is, oh walking through your mazes, oh oh I've been waking up drenched in sweat. All my dreams full of my regret”. This line of the song really stood out to me because of how confusing life can be. Everything can be fine one minute and completely flip the next. You can’t even function. your mind is moving miles a minute, you can’t sleep, you can’t eat. You stop wanting to go out with friends and you just kind of cut yourself off from everybody and everything. 
         In times like this, you have to start to open back up to people. While you have to give yourself time to recover but you can’t say cooped up inside forever. “My mind of the notion, you'll still be my motive. I've been, I've been so messed up in my head I've been going through phases, I'm just going through phases”. This quote talks about just going through the motions. Not really living in your reality.  Living out there and isolating yourself away from everyone. Your still so attached to this one thing or a person you can't let go of it. You have to learn to drift away from what you know and try something different.
Letting go, although challenging at first, can be so beneficial for you to grow as a person. I’ve personally been in a relationship with a person, whether it was as friends or as more that it was mentally and physically damaging for me to continue to be in that relationship. You must remember that you have to love yourself and find your worth before you start giving to others. Some people may call it selfish but if you take a deeper look, you are looking out for yourself and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. 
Unfortunately, society today loves to put you in this tiny box and if you dare take one step out you will be ridiculed and made fun of you. The song Supernova has helped me through the lowest parts in my life and reminded me that life can always be worse and not to take anything for granted. People are human and they make mistakes. They will betray you but it is what you do to bounce back, which shows what kind of person you are.

I thought the play The Importance of Being Earnest was pretty good. I've never heard of the certain play before but I think that they portrayed the themes really well. The acting was amazing. The actors worked really well together and fed off each other really well. It was easy to figure out what people's personalities were and that really helps especially if you’ve never seen the production. Erin was very enjoyable to watch. He portrayed his characters friskiness and the ability to eat for the whole play was very impressive. I think the lighting was pretty good but it was hard to figure out if they were inside or not. maybe when the scene shifts inside the lights can dim. I didn't catch a lot of sound work but that's just me but cannot say if it was good or not. I liked the set for this play. it was simple and didn't need a lot of on-set changes which helps the cast. The only weakness was line stutters and pronunciation. over all the play was great!
